TTC is thrilled to announce the successful implementation of CRIO, an integrated eClinical software solution that goes well beyond regulatory requirements to keep TTC’s clinical trial data secure, private, and accessible to relevant internal and external clinical trial role players.

This platform encompasses creation and storage of clinical trial data in electronic format through implementation of electronic Source (e-Source) and electronic Investigator Site File (e-Regulatory) functions. Integration of these functions with the following foundational Clinical Trial Management and Oversight functions is key to successful delivery of good quality clinical trials:

  • Participant visit scheduling and resource planning
  • Patient database hosting and recruitment management
  • Integrated finance management
  • Recruitment, operational and financial reporting

Choosing the appropriate eClinical software solution was a meticulous process for TTC. We undertook a comprehensive landscape analysis, meticulously evaluating available options based on criteria such as feature sets, technical specifications, and security features to ensure compliance with required regulations, including ICH GCP E6 R2, 21 CFR Part 11, Annex 11, HIPAA, GDPR, and POPIA. Our analysis also assessed the likelihood of successful implementation and the long-term financial sustainability of candidate solutions.

Ensuring adherence to industry and regulatory standards, TTC established formal processes for system and study validation to guarantee continuous fulfilment of our specified requirements. Validation procedures and outcome assessments are prioritized based on a risk assessment looking at CRIO’s intended use and the potential impact on participant safety and the reliability of reported clinical trial data.

TTC also implemented a set of CRIO Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to guide implementation, utilization, maintenance, monitoring, and control activities associated with the deployment of the CRIO system in clinical trials conducted by TTC.

In summary, clinical trial results are a cornerstone of access to safe and effective medicine.
